Also I have tested on many systems and have got it operating correctly, but with someone like yourself the knowledge I think we could get this to work smoother install wise.
Honestly scraping the whole idea and creating some kind of conversion using your new last resort mod would probably be ideal, that and creating a fully operating file with no need to download mods etc.
just an idea.
Like I say, any way to direct message?
I've a few ideas here, I've a lot of experience working with the swatdata file etc etc.
Currently trying to get this server up and running correctly with Ben, so once that's done we are flying.

Sorry, I don't do any messenger app or facebook.

I thought some more about your server and the fact that you live in Europe. If I recall the way Swat 3 worked is that the servers only managed the matchmaking and that if everyone went peer-to-peer properly (without any firewall issues) then the burden of speed fell upon the host of the game. However if someone failed to go peer-to-peer then the host duties fell upon the server.

Does anyone else recall this? It has been a very long time since we had the Won servers but that is how I recall it working.

You should add a multiplayer button to the main menu page in the swat client, would be great, as for speed issues i wouldn't worry. I have a very powerful connection in the office on a dedicated server specifically for swat.

I scraped all my other plans to make an installer, honestly the only reason i did it in the first place was i thought the whole swat last resort thing was finished.
I honestly thought people gave up until i seen you were releasing a new mod.

It would be worth adding a multiplayer button to LR?
Either way LAN could still be used.

As for the server deciding to use the won server to host the game, i remember something along these lines happening.
Only time will tell i suppose, but ive got a complete replica of the won server sitting here and honestly its very basic, but intelligent. im sure it could be adjusted.
I have the server currently up and running but the swat client wont connect to it yet, hopefully over the weekend will be.
Ben still needs to make a few adjustments to the login data files to get compatibility.
Will be interesting to see where this all goes.

Adding the multiplayer button back in will be a pain in the ass since there are 5 different resolution menus I will need to redo. The rollover buttons are time consuming since Swat 3 does it in an unique way.

I am waiting to see if NeuWon works before starting that huge task.

As for the speed of the server the big problem is distance. From North America the ping to European servers where you are is a minimum 100-125ms.

It is done. I am embarrassed to say that what is holding me up is that I can't login to the website FTP or the CPANEL. I sent an email to Haystakk (the website host) to let him know. I think the password got mangled when we switched servers. I have to work tomorrow so it might not be until this weekend it gets released. :(

UPDATE: password all fixed. Uploading to server.

Ah yes I feel your pain, I've a few sites running on joomla (crap) and they all have different passwords lol The joys.
I am located in Ireland exactly, I've a VPN running so it could come up that I am in Brazil or Luxembourg etc at random. Just incase your sites telling you elsewhere
(server isint connected to VPN, I've more sense than that)
It will be trail and error I suppose until we sort something with these servers. But I'm confident we can get all going great in time.
