You did do something. you created 1366 x 768 textures for the multiplayer and mission custom screens with their respective 800 x 600 images pasted and centered, but you didn't create 1366 x 768 mission standard screens with their respective 800 x 600 images pasted and centered.
The question is why?
"1.21 gigawatts directly to the flux capacitor."
"Specifics Bob"

Ummm, errrr, ummm.
There must have been a reason. It has been nearly 10 years since I did some of that work/research, lol.
Now that I actually stop and think about things there is no reason why I can't simply make new screens and just adjust the coordinates on the .CON files. In fact, because certain screens aren't centered I won't have to "translate" the coordinates using an app I built to recalculate.
I guess the reason I never bothered adjusting the screens was because I was focused on the multiplayer experience. Single player was on the back burner...for 10 years. I have been so focused on making the LR Launcher, making new map textures, running the website I never mentally revisited the single player screens.
Update: Just remembered Menu.dat is the issue. Modify it and you get checksum errors with different resolutions.
Update 2: Copy-cat came up with the perfect fix for this with the Menu.dat issue. He always thinks out of the box!

New thought: I never explored the differences with the original single CD version of the game from the 2 CD tactical version. Did it have a modified Menu.dat? Will an LR mod designed for the 2 CD version screw up slightly on the 1 CD version?

If I remember correctly the patches that installed multiplayer capabilities overwrote the menu.dat.
Finding someone running the 1 cd version that is willing to reinstall is going to be a challenge.

No differences. Looked at the tactics CD and it is totally self contained and uses it's own executable.
Always good to be extra careful.
Update: I recruited my kid to make a python script to make the processing of the menu.dat easier. There are a ton of lines to process for the new X,Y coordinates and my old method was too slow.
