Ubisoft free game weekend

Rainbow Six Siege has a free weekend on Uplay (Feb 2-5) that you can download and play the full game. You can even preload it right now. If anyone is looking for players to play classic Terrorist Hunt let me know. I am hoping that it gives enough of a Ravenshield / Swat 3 tango hunt feeling that I will enjoy it.

Also coming up is Ghost Recon Wildlands Closed Beta (Feb 3-6). Damn Ubisoft all to hell for putting them on the same weekend! I got a beta key from being registered on Nvidia's Experience app. Sadly from my understanding people who got their key from Nvidia can't invite 3 friends like other players can. Again, if anyone has this key and wants to play coop with a mic let me know.

The open beta of Ghost Recon Wildlands is Feb 23-27 with preloads starting Feb 20th.

I really enjoyed the closed beta so I highly recommend it if you are a fan of military shooters like Arma or Ghost Recon. I was so busy enjoying the single player campaign missions that I never got a chance to try multiplayer coop on the last beta.

I didn't really enjoy Wildlands, seemed to be a buggy mess which won't be fixed by launch at this point :( might be worthwhile in the future, seems to be a trend with Ubi games atm.

Release something that is sort of working and fix it all later.

What did you find buggy? The only problem I had was on the character creation screen. It seemed to stop recognizing that I wanted to make changes and wouldn't show them on screen. I finally just said screw it and hit continue.and lived with whatever dude I got.

Once I was in game I didn't have much for bugs. The driving was wonky as fuck though. It seemed like the back wheel were fighting the front wheels when you tried to turn. Considering that some roads were tiny dirt paths that made it nearly impossible to drive up in the mountains.

I never tried multiplayer so I didn't see if there were problems in that department. I was having too much fun with my AI team mates.

As for "release now and fix later" that has always been UBIsoft's biggest problem. If the game didn't sell well you ended up with a buggy abandoned mess ie R6 Lockdown & Silent Hunter series.

I really did enjoy Watchdogs 2 though. They hit a home run with that game. They did an amazing job at making an open world San Francisco.

Played on Xbox One, just various little bugs that brought the game down, I tried exclusively co-op though so maybe it was net code which still blows since its not something I imagine playing solo.

Vehicles are awful to control and the Helicopter! again I don't know if this was due to co-op but the Heli almost always glitched out, wouldn't control correctly or just flat out stop working and would plummet.

I wanted to like it, all the trailers leading up to it seemed like I would enjoy it, don't think I've disliked a Ghost Recon yet even if they have changed it up since the original, wanted to take more of a stealth approach in this game and most cases it didn't really feel like you could do it well, maybe upgrades down the line could help?

Haven't played much Watch Dogs 2 myself but it did feel solid, played the first few story mission then did a few hours of co-op and was good fun, the way you can stealth in that game is what I want out of Wildlands.

Really? I enjoyed playing the game with just AI team mates. I found it fun to run around doing the missions, unlocking skill points, etc.

Sometimes multiplayer can be such a chore having to deal with people who are point whores and only care about beating other people's scores. Even in coop it seems to be a competition with some players.

The great thing about Arma is the map editor and the community made content. This adds a lot of life to a game. I can't imagine this game being able to release tools like that.
